What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapy (OT) treatment focuses on helping people with a physical, sensory, or cognitive disability be as independent as possible in all areas of their lives. Our Occupational Therapist help kids with various needs to improve their cognitive, physical, sensory, motor skills and enhance their self-esteem and sense of accomplishment.

Our goal is to develop interventions that help children with disabilities participate fully in school and social situations, help recover from injury to regain skills, and provide support for parents/caregivers who’s love ones are experiencing physical and cognitive changes.

Our Occupational therapy services typically include:

  • an individualized evaluation, during which the client/family and occupational therapist determine the child/parent’s goals
  • customized intervention to improve the child’s ability to perform daily activities and reach the goals
  • an outcomes evaluation to ensure that the goals are being met and/or make changes to the intervention plan.
